A researcher of the Institute for Development of Economist and Finance (Indef), Eko Listianto, said that by seeing the current economic growth, the government must be ready for the increasing number of poverty. It is because the contribution of manufacturing industry in maintaining formal workers has decreased.

“If the industry is slowing down, then the micro industries will be the first who has the impact,” he said.

Indonesia is in the low economic growth era for a developing country. Although the government is always optimistic that the growth will reach five percent.

The government must promote the capital expenditure in order to get investment. So that new occupations will be created.

“People purchasing and consumption will also increase,” he added.
