Withdrawal of Papua regional chief not because of Tolikara incident

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- Criminal Investigation Agency Chief of Police, Commissioner General Budi Waseso denied the replaces of Papua regional police chief (Kapolda), Inspector General Yotje Mande due to unrest in Tolikara incident on Eid al-Fitr. The replacement of Yotje was purely because of the organization.

"It isn’t like that, it’s not related to Tolikara," said Budi, in the Criminal Investigation Police, on Thursday, July 30.

According to Budi, Yotje was replaced due to retirement. Therefore, Yotje was withdrawn to the Police Headquarters. "Now he’s participating on the selection of KPK’s leader candidates, maybe so he’s not distracted," said Budi.

Previously, based on telegram letter of Police Chief Number ST / 195 // VII / 2015 dated Thursday, July 30, Yotje will be drawn to the Police Headquarters as Pati Yanma. West Papua regional police chief, General Brigadier of Police Paulus Waterpaw appointed to replace Yotje’s position as Papua police chief.

While Paulus's position replaced by General Brigadier Royke Lumowa. Previously Royke served as the Deputy Assistant of Regional Conflict Management Coordination and Contingent Coordinating Ministry for Political, Law and Security.
