REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Indonesia Trading Company (PPI) planned to widen its market share to Singapore. Director of PPI Dayu Padmara Rengganis revealed that he wanted to invite Garuda Indonesia to cooperate commodity exports of vegetables and fruits to Singapore.
"We’re aiming Singapore. We invited Garuda, Singapore was greedy for fish, mangosteen, and salak. During this time the fruits were just from Thailand. And Indonesia Salak is better. So, rather than the plane’s empty, better we fill it with PPI commodities. Vegetables and fruits," said Dayu, while giving a speech launching the new logo of PPI, on Thursday, July 30.
Dayu continued, they had a dialogue with the Trade Ministry and Agriculture Ministry related to this plan, in order to get the green light. His targets on the end of this year Indonesia has been able to increase the number of horticultural commodity exports to Southeast Asia through PPI.
"We've visited the Trade Ministry and Agriculture Ministry. Prior to December 31, 2015 we’ll export vegetables to foreign countries," he said.
