VP asks land disputes immediately resolved

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla asked for immediate settlement of land disputes in the construction of power projects in a number of regions. Economic Minister Sofyan Djalil said the land dispute problems which occurred in the geothermal power plant (PLTP) project in the Halimun Mountain West Java as well as the steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) project Muara Jawa in East Kalimantan.

For projects in East Kalimantan, said Sofyan, VP was instructed that these problems could be solved within one week so that it could accelerate the development of the project. VP has also been communicating with the regional Police Chief and the regional Military commander to immediately provide its report related to the matters.

"Earlier Mr. Vice President immediately contacted the police chief and military commander there to look at the matter. They agreed that resolve within one week will get a report," the Minister said after attending an electricity meeting at the Vice President’s office, Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 14.

Not only that, VP also asked the Environment and Forestry Minister to immediately solve the problem of land disputes in the electrical construction of the two projects. In addition, Sofyan said that VP asked PLN to arrange how to use the national energy mix appropriately in accordance with the Law.

 

"How to achieve the right energy mix, which is the mandate of Law on 2000, the energy mix for at least 25% of the new and renewable energy," he added.
