REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Based on a survey of Unified Data Center (PDB), most people in Jakarta who chose Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama in term of his position as the number one people in DKI, came from upper middle class.
Besides Ahok, in a survey conducted by PDB, there are two other candidates that could be Basuki's rival. Among them, the mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini and the Mayor of Bandung, Ridwan Kamil.
Tri Rismaharini voters more evenly spread in all classes. Meanwhile, Ridwan Kamil is similar to Ahok, the voters largely come from the upper middle class.
PDB surveys conducted through telephone interviews in 26 May to 1 June 2015. Respondents were randomly selected systematically based on residential phone book, published by PT Telkom.
The total sample of 422 people representing community phone users in Jakarta. The margin of error of approximately 4.8 percent on a 95 percent confidence level.
