REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama revealed that the old TransJakarta buses will continue to harm many people, because the most of buses which was operated have not roadworthy.
"The old buses will continue to harm the victims. If we don't finish the management of Transjakarta, all of those are old contracts that harm," said Ahok, the nickname of former East Belitung regent at City Hall, on Tuesday, June 23.
PT Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) had just change the status became the regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) of DKI in early 2015. Ahok said that PT TransJakarta was still in the process of management improvement.
As for the contract agreement with a number of Transjakarta operators, until now it was still could not be changed. Ahok said they would fix a new contract.
"Currently the contract has not been completed, and then we will renew it. TransJakarta had just six months," said Ahok.
It said further, many of the previous agreement were problematic. In the future, about the damage of the bus, it must be repaired immediately by Brand Holder Agent (APM) of bus, not the operators.
"Previously the contract was indiscriminate; meanwhile the new contract requires a certificate. The driver could not be carelessly, driver could not stop working carelessly," said Ahok.
On Tuesday, June 23, in Plumpang, North Jakarta, one person was killed as hit by TransJakarta bus.
