REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BALIKPAPAN -- State-owned energy company PT Pertamina made assurance that the supply of subsidized diesel fuel and gasoline will be sufficient during the upcoming fasting month of Ramadan.
"The demand for fuel oils in Kalimantan, be it subsidized diesel oil or gasoline, for the fasting month and Eid holidays is predicted to not jump significantly and is forecast to stand at around 6,095 kiloliter (kl) per day (Premium) and 2,250 kl/day for diesel fuel (Solar)," senior supervisor for Region VI Kalimantan, Andar Titi Lestari, noted in a press statement here on Monday.
She said the estimate was made based on data collected during 2013 and 2014 when the average requirement during the time was relatively the same as compared to the other periods.
As an anticipatory measure, PT Pertamina has however prepared an additional supply of up to 5-10 percent of the normal allocation for use in case a hike occurs beyond the prediction.
With regard to aircraft fuel (Avtur), Pertamina will increase the stock by 13 percent from the normal monthly distribution averaging at 17,302 to 19,559 kl.
"We will prepare the additional supply for June-July 2015, or during Ramadan and Eid holidays," she revealed.
She affirmed that the stock of Premium for Kalimantan was sufficient for 17 days, fuel for 17 days, Pertamax 17 days, and Pertamax Plus and Avtur for 20 days.
"We are also building up stock to meet the requirement for Ramadan and Eid holidays," she added.
