REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (Kemenpora) has said it will be responsible for the sanction imposed by the international football organization FIFA on the All-Indonesia Football Association (PSSI).
"The Kemenpora will take a number of strategic steps as the consequence of the imposition of the FIFA sanction on the PSSI," Kemenpora's Deputy V for Partnership and Harmonization Affairs Gatot S Dewa Broto said here on Sunday.
FIFA on Saturday imposed a sanction against the All-Indonesia Football Association (PSSI), which bans the Indonesian soccer team to participate in international tournaments.
Broto was quoted by the Kemenpora's Media Team as saying that his side will soon cooperate with various relevant institutions to accomplish as soon as possible the blue print on the improvement of national football sector.
"We will work fast in order to achieve a more comprehensive, transparent and objective grand strategy with a target to achieve a significant achievement through the rearrangement of the Indonesian national football management system," he said.
Regarding competition, Broto explained that the Kemenpora through its Transitional Team would soon organize competitions in various levels, both for professionals and amateurs.
This should be emphasized because it concerns not merely on the technical aspect of the nation's football but also on the social aspect, including economy, people's creativity and dimension of the public benefit.
"We hope that all players would not worry about about it because the government has the commitment to organize various competitions again with a better standard and quality, so that the rights and responsibility of players, coaches and competition organizers could well be met," Broto said.
He explained that the FIFA sanction should be positively responded to by the PSSI. There is no need to blame each other because what is needed now is to cooperate.
The Kemenpora, PSSI and the National Olympic Committee (KOI) should also remain to create synergy so that the FIFA sanction would not be imposed too long.
"We have to respect the FIFA Statutes but this bitter experience gives us all a lesson that loyalty to FIFA should be given professionally. The government has no intention at all to interfere in it," he said.
The international football organization has officially imposed a sanction on Indonesia. PSSI is considered to have violated the FIFA statutes, article 13 and 17 with the intervention by outsiders, namely the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Indonesian Professional Sports Agency (BOPI).
With the sanction which has not been known when it will end, the PSSI loses its membership and that the Indonesian national team is banned from taking part in international competitions organized by FIFA and AFC.
Besides that Indonesia is also banned from receiving advantage from the world's football organization and from the AFC such as capacity building program, courses or training during the imposition of the sanction.
However, FIFA still allows the Indonesian National Team to take part in the Southeast Asian Games 2015 in Singapore.
