REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- The encouragement for President Joko Widodo to reshuffle his cabinet continues to flow. A political observer from the University of Indonesia, Cecep Hidayat, assessed that there was possibility that the reshuffle was infiltrated by political interests.

"Yes there is, it should be possible," he said, on Friday, May 15.

He explained that it was visible when a number of parties outside the coalition of Great Indonesia (KIH) started to get closer to the government. These indications are similar with the time when the chairman of the Democrats Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) said that he would support the government of Jokowi-JK and his desire to do a good communication with President Jokowi.

A number of other parties who are known to have approached the government was Golkar party from Agung Laksono faction and United Development Party (PPP) from Romahurmuziy faction. Moreover, according to Cecep, before deciding to reshuffle his ministers, Jokowi will consider it with the party leaders.

"There was input from supporter coalitions who want the reshuffle. Now, before reshuffling Jokowi will consider it with the party leadership,“ he said

Cecep assessed the approach of a number of parties outside the KIH coalition was done for the sake of politics as the local election (Pilkada) will be convening simultaneously at the end of this year.
