REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Pertamina could not ensure the adjustment time of the price of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM) after the cancellation of price increase per May 15, 2015. Pertamina insisted the cancellation was purely to prevent the lack of information and did not because of the government's instructions or pressure from external other parties.
"Basically, this is a lesson so in the future the communication to partners, to government and to public has to be clear. Internally, there should be a clear focus first and then delivered it to the public,"said Vice President of Communications Corporate Company Pertamina, Wianda Pusponegoro, contacted on Friday, May 15.
When asked about future price adjustment decision, considering the price of fuel has been decided to "oscillate" adjust to global market prices, Wianda just mentioned, "in the near future". Pertamina claimed to have talked with the government and will make adjustments soon.
"We hope as soon as possible, so that there is clarity,” she said.
But basically, she acknowledged that the cancellation was the lesson for Pertamina as well as public so the information which delivered should be submitted with a compact communication to make it clear when it arrived in the society. And most importantly, all these decisions have to be submitted first to the government.
When the adjustment happens, she added, it would be focused on rise in per package of products and would not be mixed with other fuel product packages. "If there is an increase on PERTAMAX Series then comes out Pertamax, Pertamax Plus and Pertamina Dex. Do not be merged with a package of other products, in order not to confuse the public," she said.
Related on the response of gas stations (SPBU) businessman, Wianda also said that they had coordinated and there was no problem. It is mean, anything that has been submitted and has decided through coordination, so it will be well received.
