Jakarta to build 50 parks this year

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The government of Jakarta province plans to build 50 parks in 2015. It was revealed by the Governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) during the inauguration of the Child Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA) in Sungai Bambu, North Jakarta, Wednesday, May 13.

"This year we will build 50 gardens, and the next year we’ll build again," said Ahok.

In 2016, Basuki plans to build 206 parks and 106 parks. He said, construction of this park will involve private companies in the form of cooperation.

"If we rely on APBD (regional budget) it will not be completed. Better if we cooperate with the private sector, within four months the parks will be built," said Basuki.

Basuki also want to move the entire society activities into the community by using provided gardens. The community has a person in charge of the local Neighborhood Association (RT) and Citizens Association (RW).

In the near future, the Child Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA) will be built in five areas of the city and one in the district, namely North Jakarta in Sungai Bambu that has been unveiled. Furthermore, in Cililitan village in East Jakarta, West Jakarta in Kembangan sub-district, Central Jakarta in Cideng village which will be named Tidore Park, South Jakarta in Cilandak sub-district and in the district of Kepulauan Seribu on Untung Jawa Island.
