REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TABANAN -- Tanah Lot, located in Beraban village, Tabanan, Bali province, attracted 247,377 domestic and foreign tourists in April 2015, or an increase of four percent as compared to the same period last year.
"In April 2014, we received 237,045 tourists," Operational Manager of Tanah Lot Tourism Area I Ketut Toya Adnyana stated here on Tuesday (5/5).
Of the total number of tourists, 3,170 were domestic child tourists and 135,464 were adults. Meanwhile, the foreign tourists comprised 2,609 children and 95,802 adults.
According to Adnyana, the increase in the number of tourists visiting Tanah Lot was the result of intensive promotion conducted by the tourism businesspersons.
In March 2015, the total number of domestic tourists reached 121,823, while there were 98,640 foreign tourists.
These numbers have increased as compared to 140,145 domestic tourists and 102,637 foreign tourists recorded in the previous month.
Foreign tourists visiting Tanah Lot were mainly from China and Australia, Adnyana pointed out.
Tanah Lot is a rock formation off the island of Bali. It is home to a pilgrimage temple Pura Tanah Lot, a popular tourist and cultural icon for photography and general exoticism.
