REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan and US Ambassador to Indonesia Robert O Blake signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing the US-Indonesia Aviation Working Group (AWG) recently.
The AWG will provide a platform for US government and private sector aviation stakeholders and their Indonesian counterparts to "work together to support the safe, secure, and efficient development of Indonesia's aviation sector by bringing US technical expertise and aviation experience to Indonesia," the US embassy in Jakarta said in a statement, Thursday (30/4).
The MOU was signed during a meeting with Commerce Assistant Secretary Arun Kumar and PDAS Scot Marciel on April 20.
The AWG's activities will focus on policy and technical issues facing the Indonesian aviation sector, including Air Traffic Management Modernization, Airport Infrastructure, Aviation Safety and Security, Development and Growth of Aviation Support Services, Airspace and Airport Capacity Analysis, Development, and Planning, General Aviation Access and Integration, Cargo Security.
The US and Indonesia are working on follow up activities under the MOU.
