Batik Air introduces flights from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Batik Air began operating flight services from Jakarta's Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Kualanamu Airport in Medan, North Sumatra, on Thursday, April 2.

President Director of Batik Air Achmad Luthfie said at a press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport on Thursday that his airlines was introducing six routes from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, which was operated by the air force in East Jakarta so far.

The six routes from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport will link Jakarta with Malang (East Java), Balikpapan (East Kalimantan), Tarakan, Medan, Solo (Central Java) and Makassar (South Sulawesi).

"We are allowed to fly three aircraft from this airport. Today, we fly to Medan twice, and to Solo, Malang, Balikpapan and Makassar," he affirmed.

Luthfie added that his company hoped that with flights from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, it would be able to increase economic activities at the airport and its vicinity.
