REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- General chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) of the Surabaya Congress Romahurmuziy said the party would remain in a coalition supporting the government.
PPP has been split into two in leadership with the rival camp formed in a Jakarta congress headed hy Jan Farid that joined the opposition Red and White Coalition.
"We remain with the commitment to support the government," Romahurmuziy said in this capital city of West Nusa Tenggara province on Monday.
He said one form of the PPP support is that it rejects inquiry motion sought by lawmakers at the Commission III of the Parliament against Justice and Human Right Minister Yasonna Laoly for recognition of the Surabaya Congress of PPP and Golkar party under Agung Laksono.
Golkar, which has the second largest seats at Parliament, also has been split into two one under Agung Laksono and another under Aburizal Bakrie.
"PPP has instructed its cadres at Parliament not to use their inquiry right against Yasonna," Romahurmuziy said.
In fact the idea of inquiry was wrong, and it would fail as it gain not enough support in the parliament, he said.
Based on the Law on MD3 (legislative bodies -- MPR, DPR, DPRD and DPD) inquiry right is used against the government (the president) accused of violating the pubic interest and the constitutional law.
"For us the minister of justice and human rights has acted in line with the law," Romahurmuziy said.
