Franky said executives from a number of companies are scheduled to meet with President Joko Widodo during his visit to Japan on March 23-25 at an investors' forum.

BKPM, he said, would also conduct intensive meetings with investors through a consultation meeting forum.

"During the meetings with the President in a'one-on-one meeting' or at an investors' forum we hope they would realize their interest by immediately submitting applications for an investment permit," he said.

Franky said all efforts made by his office were implementation of President Joko Widodo's hope that his current visit to Japan would bring results especially with regard to investment.

He said BKPM has also received applications for investment permits from Japanese investors worth US$2.7 billion from October 2014 to March 19, 2015 operating in automotive component industries.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has expressed his hope that for more concrete bilateral cooperation could be established between Indonesia and Japan as well as Indonesia and China.

"The state visits are to follow up talks held in November last year with Chinese President Xi Jin Ping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe," Jokowi said before his departure to Tokyo.
