REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDA ACEH -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo are scheduled to pay a working visit to Sabang, Aceh Province, Tuesday morning.
The head of state and entourage would go to Sabang by the Indonesian Air Force's plane CN295 from Sultan Iskandar Muda airport, here, at 7:30 a.m local time.
He will launch a logo of the 70th anniversary of Indonesia's Independence at Nil Km in Sabang, and visit Sabang free zone seaport.
President Jokowi left for Aceh Province on Sunday afternoon for a working visit from March 8 to 10, 2015.
On Monday, March 9, the President laid a corner stone of the development of the Keureutoe Dam in Paya Bakong, North Aceh.
Jokowi also visited PT Arun to listen to a presentation by PT Peta Arun Gas on the progress of a revived gas project in a former refinery plant of PT Arun.
The President said on Monday that runways in all Aceh airports will be extended to accommodate wide-bodied aircraft.
"A lot will be done by the Central Government to improve the infrastructure of the province," he stated while officially launching the development work on Keureuteu dam in Paya Bakong sub-district in Aceh Utara.
He noted that the mayor of Lhokseumawe had mentioned the urgency of extending the runway of Malikussaleh airport from the current length of 1,400 meters to 2,400 meters.
