REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, AMBON -- A moderate quake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale hit Buru Selatan district, Maluku province, on Monday at 09.48 Eastern Indonesia Standard Time (WIT), data from the local Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said.
The quake was centered at 83 kilometers southwest of Buru Selatan and it had no potential to trigger tsunami.
Secretary to the local Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Kifly Wakanno said the Monday quake did not cause damage.
