REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) regrets Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) move that rejects resignation from KPK commissioner Bambang Widjojanto. Widjojanto resigned from the agency after police named him as a suspect in false testimony case.

The Presidium of IPW, Neta S Pane, said that KPK elites defied KPK Laws by rejecting Widjojanto's resignation. The KPK Laws say that every suspect must be resigned from the agency. "It implies that there is conspiracy between KPK elites," Pane said on Tuesday, January 27.

He said that the rejection could bring bad precedent for the agency. "It seems like they are angels that have no mistakes," he said.

Deputy of Prevention Unit of KPK, Johan Budi, said that Widjojanto's suspension would affect KPK leadership's work as his resignation would leave KPK with only three commissioners, namely Abraham Samad, Adnan Pandu Praja and Zulkarnain.
