REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- The administration of Bandung will promote the city at the South East Asian regional level as one of the most preferred Indonesian tourism destinations, a promotion team leader Bhawika Hikmat Prasetya stated here on Monday (26/1).
"Thailand and Laos are our first target in the 'Bandung Promotion Tour 2015' program," Bhawika noted.
The promotion team comprises five Bandung City's ambassadors: Dinia Ridanti, Widi Firman Nesa, Amelia Putri, Fajar Firdaus, and Bhawika Hikmat Prasetya.
Bhawika emphasized that in order to showcase Bandung's tourism potential, the promotion team will perform traditional dance forms such as Merak, Gawil, Jaipong, Cikeruhan, and Topeng Priyangan.
The team will also organize dance workshops at several universities in Thailand, including Khon Kaen University, Dhonburi Rajabhat University, and Lampang College of Commerce and Technology.
"We will perform the dance forms for two weeks, from February 1 to 14," Bhawika revealed.
In addition to showcasing the dance performances, the promotion team will also give a presentation on the cultural and tourism potential of West Java, especially highlighting the attractions in Bandung City.
The promotion program is one of the efforts to welcome the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), Fajar Firdaus, a promotion team member, added.
