REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Administration prepares an eleven hectare athletes' village for Asian Games 2018. The village will be located in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
"It is expected to finish in 2017," Governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, popularly known as Ahok, said after meeting with President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo on Wednesday, January 7.
Government will also provide transportation, connecting the village with Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Kota Tua, and other areas where the games will be held, namely Ancol, Kemayoran, Sunter, Kelapa Gading, and Bekasi.
Besides Jakarta, Asian Games will also take place in Palembang, South Sumatera. Governor of South Sumatera, Alex Noerdin, said that the facilities were ready. "We don't have to wait until 2018. We're ready now," he said.
