REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) commented on Wednesday (7/1) about the media's role in projecting the government's performance during the past three months.

"The media continues to highlight and judge the performance of the government, particularly the Working Cabinet," President Jokowi said while opening a cabinet meeting to discuss the 2015-2019 mid-term national development plan at the presidential office.

Jokowi remarked that while the media does not necessarily represent the performance of the government, it acts as a messenger that can shape public perception.

"The media's spotlight keeps shifting based on the government's activities and policies, especially of the cabinet ministers and other government institutions, thereby influencing public perception," the President noted.

During the cabinet meeting, which was also attended by Vice-President Jusuf Kalla, President Jokowi gave a portrait analysis of his government's performance reported in 343 media groups.
