Narcotics Agency pushes execution of drug-related convicts

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Narcotics Agency (BNN) demands the immediate execution of death sentence of drug-related convicts. The execution is halted after the convicts asked court decision to  be reviewed.

"Execute them immediately," The Head of BNN, Anang Iskandar, said on Wednesday, December 24, after attending meeting in State Palace. He considered that the drug-related convicts deserved death sentence.

About 64 drug-related convicts sentenced to death are waiting for execution. However, most of them propose review of court decision. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo stated that he would not grant clemency to drug-related convicts. Government plans to execute four convict by the end of this year.
