REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BATANG -- PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia stated that coal-fired steam power plant (PLTU) project in Batang regency continued, despite facing problems in land acquisition. The corporation is optimistic that Law No. 2/2012 on land acquisition for development for public interests implemented on January 1 will ease the process.
"We face problems on land acquisition, but we hope the project to be continued," President Director of PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia Mohammad Effendi said on Monday, December 8.
Government has acquired 87 percent of the land. The project still needs 226 hectare.
Batang Power Plant will use ultra super critical technology which is claimed to be efficient and environmental friendly. "PLTU Batang is for national interest. It will supply 2X1,000 MW electricity. We hope people will support the building," he said.
