REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sees Indonesian Provincial Government Association (APPSI)'s appeal to President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo is unreasonable.

Deputy Chairman of KPK Busyro Muqqodas said the demand made the law process become complicated and potentially hampered legal proceedings. It is also possible for the alleged regional head to destroy evidences.

"I would say, their demand is unreasonable," Muqqodas said on Wednesday, November 26. He asked Jokowi to reject their appeal. "The President must be consistent and their appeal can lead to inefficient and complex bureaucracy," he said.

Earlier, APPSI demands law enforcement to wait for the process of internal monitor to finish before law enforcement institutions summon a regional head. The association requires law enforcement to follow the internal monitor process. The process includes examination from Supreme Audit Institution (BPK), Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), and Government's Internal Audit Agency.
