Labor union rallies to halt oil price hike

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,JAKARTA -- Indonesian labor union held rally, demanding President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo to cancel oil price hike. The rally was held in  Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout during Heroes Day.

"We, Indonesian Labor Union (KSPSI), support Jokowi, but we defy the plan to hike oil price," the President of KSPSI Andi Gani Nenawea said on Monday, November 10.

Besides asking the government to cancel oil price hike, they also asked President Jokowi to raise minimum wage (UMR) in each region in Jakarta. They also asked government to cover them with health insurance covered by Social Security Management Agency (BPJS).
