Bekasi-Jakarta to build integrated transport system

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BALAI KOTA - Bekasi city government, West Java plans to build an integrated transport system with Jakarta. Mayor of Bekasi, Rahmat Effendi said that they would build the integrated bus network (APTB) and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) with Jakarta.

Bekasi will have type-A terminal that can be connected to the bus network throughout Jakarta. Effendi said that he had submitted the plan and proposed a budget to the city government.

"We have submitted the budget plan. Hopefully it can be implemented in Regional Budget 2015," Effendi said recently.

According to Effendi, Acting Governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama would approve the budget for the benefit of people.

There is a budget of 250 trillion IDR.

Bekasi city government has the development priority in field of transportation system, roads, waterways and green open spaces. Effendi hopes that Bekasi can be like Jakarta in terms of infrastructure development, which is useful to each other.

Currently, the APTB service between Jakarta and Bekasi is still not maximized.
