REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo said that he would replace eight ministerial candidates for his cabinet based on recommendations of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).
Jokowi previously has submitted 43 names for prospective members to the Commission and PPATK, but there were eight inappropriate candidates.
"There are eight names that do not deserve to be ministers. I cannot disclose the names. Media should not guess and I need to say this," Jokowi said on Wednesday.
Former Jakarta governor said that several medias had announced the names, but it was not right. Jokowi also said that the candidate selection was his prerogative right and it was not associated to the Transition Team. The head of state explained that his cabinet would be announced as soon as possible.
"It is true that I have to announce my cabinet after the inaguration as soon as possible. I wish to work fast, but I do not want to make mistakes," Jokowi said.
