REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The ex-chairman of Parliament's Commission VII Sutan Bhatoegana honored the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK's) summons as a graft suspect in a case related to the Mineral and Energy Resources Ministry's (ESDM's) revised 2013 State Budget.

"Examined as a suspect," Sutan stated on Monday.

But, he declined to answer other questions regarding the inquisition as he entered the waiting room. Bhatoegana had earlier been questioned by the KPK as a suspect, but until now, he has not been detained.

Besides Bhatoegana, the KPK also interrogated the notary Ayu Wahyuni, Land Deed Official Emmy Yatmi Noordjasmani, and Commissioner of PT Mitra Mandiri R. Saleh Abdul Malik.

The KPK also raided two houses and companies related to Bhatoegana in September.

Bhatoegana had earlier been questioned by the KPK regarding the mechanisms adopted while allocating the budget in Commission VII. The case is an extension of a corruption case that ensnared former head of Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) Rudi Rubiandini who has been sentenced to 7 years imprisonment.
