REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo announced that 16 of 34 ministerial posts were political party figures.
"We have decided, there will be 34 ministries, as for ministerial posts divided 18 posts for figures with professional background and 16 posts are figures from political parties," Jokowi said on Monday.
He denied to explain the reason behind the ratio of ministerial posts. Former Solo mayor also declined to hint which political parties to be involved in his cabinet.
Jokowi explained that among 18 ministers with professional background would sit at Ministry of Finance, Ministry of State owned Enterprises, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and others. The next cabinet will keep three coordinating ministries and at least one vice ministerial post for Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Yet, Jokowi was tight lipped when asked about figures on his cabinet. He said that some posts were still under considerations.
"The most important thing, we want to build a strong cabinet to run its programs. We will announce names who will sit on those ministerial posts some other time, since some of them are not finalized yet," Jokowi added.
