"We are ready to improve various development sectors including infrastructure and human resources in our effort to greet the ASEAN Economic Community," the Governor remarked here on Thursday.

Awang noted that the province since 2009 to 2013 has granted Bright Scholarship program to at least 30 thousands students per year to improve their human resources quality to compete with other ASEAN countries.

"Thus, until 2013 a total of 187 thousand students in East Kalimatan had received the Bright Scholarship program from the local government," according to the governor.

He stated that each year after the scholarship recipients completed their study, the provincial and district governments provided them with jobs at state and private companies.

Besides, he said the provincial and district government regularly conduct Job Market Fair (JMF) every year to absorb the workforce en masse, both for public community and scholarship recipients.
