REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Chairman of Democratic Party, Max Sopacua said that the party would dismiss senior politician Jero Wacik from the party. This is consistent to the integrity pact run in the ruling party system.

"Cadres who are involved in a law incident should resign from the party. It is written in integrity pact," Sopacua said on Wednesday.

Democratic Party will not give a special treatment to Wacik as the regulation is applied to all party leaders. For example, former youth and sports minister Andi Alfan Mallarangeng who is also former Democratic Party secretary and Anas Urbaningrum (former Democratic Party chairman) also withdrew from their position after named as suspect by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Sopacua did not know when Wacik would resign as it had to be communicated with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Yudhoyono is still conducting a state visit in Singapore.

"President is still busy in Singapore. He (Wacik) is directly under Yudhoyono's direction," Sopacua said.

Yudhoyono directly announced the integrity pact of Democratic Party at Puri Cikeas Indah, Bogor, West Java on February 2013.

 In eighth statement, cadre who is named as suspect must resign from his position and ready to receive the sanction of board of party.

KPK announced on Wednesday that Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jero Wacik became a suspect of corruption cases related to the procurement project at the ministry in 2011-2013.
