REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The losing presidential ticket Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa has stated the Constitutional Court (MK)'s verdict on presidential election result dispute did not reflect substantive justice.
"We see the verdict fails to reflect substantive justice which is an important essence in democracy," spokesman of the Red-and-White Coalition Tantowi Yahya said while reading out a statement of the coalition's stand at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Jakarta on Thursday night.
Tantowi said the coalition team kept abreast of court sessions at the MK in the past couple of weeks.
The coalition team brought a number of witnesses to the court sessions to give their testimonies on vote rigging and injustice during the 2014 presidential poll, he said.
In addition, it also filed several pieces of evidence from authentic sources to the MK to show that the presidential election was marred with structured, systematic, and massive election fraud, he said.
"The session system and process at the MK have ignored in-depth authentication and failed to reveal testimonies from witnesses whose number is larger than agreed upon. Although the MK's verdict is final and binding it does not reflect substantive justice for the Indonesian people," he said.
The duo has filed a case against the presidential election results with the MK alleging structured, systematic, and massive election fraud during the implementation of the 2014 presidential election.
