Indonesia ready to support Palestine

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said that Indonesia was ready to fight for Palestine at the front line. Indonesia donated one million USD to the Palestinians. It is a form of solidarity over the human tragedy in the country.

"For our solidarity, we provide assistance of one million USD. Indonesian people who wanted to contribute, very welcome," Yudhoyono said in Jakarta recently.

Indonesia has coordinated with other Islamic countries to stop the violence in Palestine.

"Indonesia stands in front of diplomatic struggle over military action in Palestine. Alhamdulillah (All praise to God), we got good response," Yudhoyono added.

Yudhoyono has made a phone call to Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani. Rouhani as chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) asked for Indonesian support to stop the violence that is happening in Palestine.

"We agreed not only with Iran, but also with other Islamic countries, the Gulf countries and the world community to have responsibilty to put an end the Israeli military action against Palestinians in Gaza Strip," he said.

The leader of ruling party said that every  movement would have significant effect. If the world community does not act anything, it would cause the high risk.
