REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- A tourist bus caught fire on a main road of the Puncak resort area in Cibogo village of Megamendung subdistrict in Bogor district of West Java on Monday, a police spokesman said.

The driver of the bus (plate number B-7566 NP) named Aritha Bangun, 42, realized that the vehicle caught fire after its engine suddenly stopped on its way to Cianjur, Adjunct Commissioner Muhammad Chaniago said.

However, 59 passengers, mostly students who were on a study tour, were evacuated shortly after the driver found flames in the engine compartment, he added.
