REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PADANG -- The Padang Resort Police will deploy 400 personnel to provide security during the presidential election on July 9, 2014 in the province.

The police force will include Sabhara, traffic police, Public Manage Forces, and intelligent personnel, working in 11 sub-districts in Bingkuang.

"We will deploy the officers to secure the presidential election starting from the campaign period, logistic distribution and voting period," the Chief of Padang Resort Police Senior Commissioner Wisnu Andayana said here, on Saturday.

He stated that conditions in Padang are favorable for peaceful elections. However, Wisnu added, there is a potential for conflict which could occur during the distribution of election logistics and during the voting period.

"The areas which are prone to conflict are located at the voting sites and Election Commission office relating to protests about permanent voter lists or voting results," Wisnu said.

The Police will also hold a simulation on presidential election security at the police headquarter on Tuesday, June 10.

The Police will also simulate security efforts for the elections, including the campaign period, voting period, and until the summary calculation is held for the election.

"We hope the simulation could be a basis for the security effort on the election that will occur in Indonesia," Wisnu said.
