National banking's credit growth slows down

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - National banking's credit growth has slowed down due to interest rates increase and moderation on domestic supply. According Bank indonesia, credit in April 2014 was 3,386.5 billion IDR or decreased from 19.1 percent to 18.5 percent.

The credit slowdown mainly occurred in the disbursement of working capital loans (KMK) to 1,614.2 billion IDR or decrease from 16.3 percent in March to 15.5 percent in April 2014. The slow down were mostly derived from trade, hotel and restaurant sectors worth 589.8 trillion IDR or decrease from 21.5 percent to 20.5 percent. 

Credit of micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) decreased 627.5 trillion IDR from 17 percent to 15.6 percent in April. Property loans also declined from 24.9 percent in March 2014 to 23.3 percent in April 2014. The total of mortgage portfolio was recorded at 484.7 trillion IDR.

On the other hand, the export credit was 61 trillion IDR or increased from 19.1 percent to 27.6 percent in April.
