REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- Bali Immigration Office in Denpasar has deported 22 foreign citizens, consisted of 16 people in 2013 and six people in 2014. They violated the immigration clearance during 2013-2014.

"We have a team of immigration enforcement for surveillance to monitor foreign citizens' activities in Bali," Head of Denpasar Immigration Office, Bambang Wisnu Wardhana said recently.

According to him, number of supervisory immigration officers is still small. There are only six officers who monitor five districts and one city in Bali.

Nevertheless, Bali immigration office has cooperated with police, labor department and tourism department to monitor foreign citizens' activities.

Officer also intensively visited a number of institutions, which employed foreign workers, such as foreign language educational institutions to check their permits. There are several other cases related to foreign citizens who abused the permit in Bali.

The last deportation case in Bali happens to two Australian journalists. They came to Bali by using visa on arrival, but they actually worked to report the parole of Schepelle Leigh Corby, the convicted of drug smuggler.
