REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian government had set liquefied natural gas (LNG) allocations to meet domestic needs in 2014 and in 2015, an official said.

The LNG will be supplied from the Badak refinery in Bontang, East Kalimantan, and the Tangguh field in Papua, deputy for commercial affairs to the chief of Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) Widhyawan Prawiraatmadja said here on Monday.

The users of the LNG will be the gas terminal in Arun, Aceh province, floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) in the provinces of West Java, Lampung and Banten, he added.

The FSRU in Central Java will not receive the LNG allocations, according to the letter of the energy and mineral resources minister issued in April 2014, he said.

"The FSRU in Central Java is likely to come on stream after 2015, so it will not receive allocations," he remarked.

The government will issue a letter of allocation to the FSRU in Central Java only if its construction is completed, he said.

"The letter of allocation was issued for short-term needs so we only considered the existing production from Bontang and Tangguh," he added.

Gas production from the Indonesia deepwater development (IDD) project in Masela and Tangguh was not used for the domestic LNG allocations in 2014 and in 2015, he said.
