REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National flag carrier, PT Garuda Indonesia will open a non-stop flight from Jakarta to Amsterdam, Netherland for people who want to travel to the Windmill country. Marketing and sales director of Garuda Indonesia, Erik Meijer said that it was the only one non-stop route existed in the world between two cities.
"This flight will be started on May 30," Meijer said on Friday.
On September 8, 2013, Jakarta-Amsterdam route will be extended to London. Garuda also plans to expand its international routes by increasing fleet number.
Garuda planned to open new international destinations in 2014 in order to develop and strengthen its flight networks, such as to London (United Kingdom), Manila (Philippines) and Mumbai (India).
.President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Emirsyah Satar said that Garuda had opened two destinations and six new international routes. In domestic flight, the airline has opened nine new destinations and 25 new routes, which could add 80 domestic flights per day.
Fleet development and additional aircrafts aimed to improve efficiency through reduction in fuel use and aircraft maintenance costs.
