N. Sulawesi exports knockdown house to Australia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO - Regional Head of Industry and Trade of North Sulawesi, Alvie Atteng said that the province had exported knockdown traditional house of Minahasa called Rumah Panggung Woloan (Woloan stage house) to Australia up to 33,891 tonnes worth 17,500 USD. The house's pattern and quality has attracted many foreign buyers. 

"This year is our first time exporting Woloan stage house to Australia. Woloan house comes from Woloan village, West Tomohon," Atteng said on Monday.

A local village in Woloan Tomohon has grown as industrial village producing knockdown house. The industry has flourished to meet demands from Indonesia as well as abroad. 

"The house of Minahasa has penetrated foreign markets, such as European countries, Asia and America," Atteng.
