REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Cellular phone operator, PT Smartfren Telecom recorded losses of 2.534 trillion IDR in 2013, while in 2012 the losses was 1.562 trillion IDR. Operating expense worth 4.039 trillion IDR was the reason behind the company's losses.
"Operating expenses rose 24.2 trillion IDR," Smartfren director, Antony Susilo said recently.
The operating expenses were for company's operations, maintenance and telecommunication services worth 1.7 trillion IDR. Depreciation expenses contributed 36.6 percent of total operating expenses, while sales and marketing expenses, personnel expenses, also general and administrative expenses also contributes to the expenses. Yet, thecompany managed to increase revenue of 47.2 percent to 24.2 trillion IDR.
Smartfren also managed to increase revenue from interest income worth 13.62 trillion IDR, but it failed to help company's financial performance. Operating revenue was derived from telecommunication services and interconnection services. Telecommunication services contributed the largest revenue worth 2.33 trillion IDR or 96.2 percent. Interconnection services contributed 90.67 trillion IDR. Smartfren's equity declined from 4.9 trillion IDR to 3.04 trillion, while company's asset stood at 15.86 trillion IDR.
