REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Indonesian Constitutional Enforcement Youth (PPKI), Syamsul Rizal said that Chairman of Crescent Star Party (PBB ) Yusril Ihza Mahendra would be an ideal couple for Jakarta governor, Joko Widodo (a.k.a Jokowi).

"Duet of Jokowi and Mahendra is ideal as it is a nationalist and religious couple. I think it is the right choice," Rizal said recently.

Jokowi who comes from Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) considered to represent the nationalist, while Mahendra was a moderate religious representation. People know Mahendra for his ability in state and legal system. Mahendra considered quite appropriate when paired with Jokowi.

People are preferred to see a figure, not a party. That is why Jokowi can defeat Megawati's popularity as presidential candidate of PDIP. Rizal said that Jokowi and Mahendra could bring a change to the nation. They can build a straight path just like goal of the founder of nation.
