REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) plans to propose Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief, Abraham Samad to accompany Prabowo Subianto in presidential election. Samad has given a code that he would do a special prayer to welcome the offer.
Vice Chairman of Commission III at the House of Representative, Al Muzzammil Yusuf said that Samad's attitude would offend KPK. He strongly disagreed with the decision to accept the proposal. It means, Samad will follow Jakarta governor, Joko Widodo (a.k.a Jokowi) who violated his promises to pursue the highest position.
"If he retreated, then it is unethical as the Commission has not completed its work," Yusuf who is also a politician of Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) said on Thursday as reported by Erik Purnama Putra.
Yusuf reminded Samad not to be tempted to hold a power. It can certainly be a bad precedent for other state official. KPK seemed to be lower than vice pesident position.
He also felt suspicious about Samad. He considered that the former anti-corruption activist tried to run away from his responsibility as his promises to resolve major cases.
