Indonesians volunteering in Gaza head home on Thursday

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian volunteers arrived in Indonesia on Thursday after serving more than 18 months at the blockaded territory of Gaza Strip. They involved in development of Indonesian hospital in Gaza. 

"The second group will return in March, 2014," Operation Manager of Medical Emergency Rescue Committe (MER-C) Rima Manzanaris said recently.

Indonesian hospital building consisting of 2.5 floors with a total area of 10 thousand meter squares has been completed. The hospital was built using charity from Indonesian people, which also illustrate the friendship between Indonesians and Palestinians.

In the next stage, Indonesia will send medical equipment and interior to the hospital, which will be focus on serving as Traumatology and Rehabilitation Center. For this purpose, MER-C sends expert to conduct a survey of medical equipment in Gaza and Cairo (Egypt). MER-C also put volunteers to serve in Gaza to oversee the medical devices.
