REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SINGAPORE - Singapore's Changi Airport becomes the first international airport destination of Batik Air, a subsidiary of Lion Air. President Director of Batik Air, Achmad Luthfi explained that Batik Air planned to serve more than one flight daily to Singapore.

"The first international destination will be opened in Singapore this December," Luthfi said on Thursday.

Demand on this route keeps increasing as many Indonesia fly to Singapore quite often. Batik Air also plans to open route to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Hong Kong.

The aircraft is equipped with in-flight entertainment (IFE) services using touch screen technology cables and optical fibers. Luthfi said that Batik Air was the first airline in the world that had Lumexis IFE service on airbus A320.

IFE system is an ultra broadband fiber optic network. It eliminates the great box seats, which sometimes disturbing passenger's leg. This system also reduces fuel burn thereby saving cost significantly.
