Gita Wirjawan optimistic to win Democratic Party convention

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former Minister of Trade, Gita Wirjawan is optimistic to win as presidential candidate at Democratic Party Convention. He formally resigned to focus on presidential campaign on Thursday, January 31, 2014.

"I'm sure, I can win this convention," Wirjawan said as reported by Riga Nurul Iman on Thursday.

After retreated from ministerial activities, Wirjawan would get closer to people. He will be more often visit Indonesian citizens in many areas.

He will listen and take aspirations of citizens. The businessman and former banker said that advertising in mass media and social media had been effective to introduce himself to community to win this convention.

There are 11 participants of Democratic Party Convention, namely Gita Wirjawan, Dahlan Iskan, Marzuki Alie, Irman Gusman, Pramono Edhie Wibowo, Ali Masykur Musa, Anies Baswedan, Hayono Isman, Dino Patti Djalal, Sinyo Harry Sarundajang and Endriartono Sutarto.
