President inaugurates 14 ambassadors and permanent representatives

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono installed 14 Indonesian ambassadors and permanent representative to be assigned to neighboring countries. One of them is former governor of Jakarta, Fauzi Bowo or popularly known as Foke, appointed as Indonesian Ambassador to Germany.

The inaguration is conducted at State Palace on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Foke previously lost in gubernatorial election last year competing couple of Joko Widodo and Basuki Tjahja Purnama. Younger brother of Yusril Ihza Mahendra (Chairman of Crescent Star Party), Yusron Ihza Mahendra also becomes ambassador to Japan after several times rumored to get the position but canceled. 

Ambassador's position as official representative of Indonesia plays an important role to improve relations and strategic cooperation between Indonesia and its neighboring countries. The task of this strategic role must be given to figures who truly competent in the field of diplomacy and dedicated to serve and protect Indonesian citizens in their appointed countries.
