Indonesia cycling team wins gold medal at SEA Games

NAYPYITAW - Indonesia cycling team won gold medals in the first day of bike racing at SEA Games 2013. The race is held at Mount Pleasant trajectories in Naypyitaw on Thursday. Red and White team immediately won gold in cross-country cycling team.

Indonesia cycling team consists of Kusmawati Yazid, Candra Rafsanzami Wihelmina and Bandi Sugito. They are succesfully finishing four laps with 55 minutes and 48 seconds.

Indonesia won over Thailand that got silver with 56 minutes and 24 seconds and left Vietnam ranked third with 58 minutes and 10 seconds. Bandi Sugito thanked to his coach, Oki Respati who showed him the strategy on each lap.

In the first lap, Indonesia Kusumawati went first to compete five other riders from five countries. She ended the first lap in fourth place behind Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia, while Malaysia was in the last position.

Indonesia has managed to led the second lap through Candra Rafsanzami Wihelmina. He was the first at finish line with two minutes. Bandi Sugito as the last rider won the competition after that.

Cross-country cycling team is the first time competed on SEA Games. Myanmar as the host proposed the idea. However, Myanmar that planned to win gold medal failed to stand on podium.
