REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The ASEAN Secretariat in cooperation with the French and German embassies, as well as a delegation from the European Union (EU) will host the ASEAN-Europe Economic Dialogue at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta on Dec. 10 and 11.
The two-day event will bring together major ASEAN, European and international economic players, both from the public and private sectors, the French embassy in Jakarta stated in a press statement on Monday.
Jean-Franois Di Meglio, the President of the think tank "Asia Centre," will act as the moderator during the high-level discussions.
The first session taking place on Dec. 10 will focus on the importance of regional integration and trade in addressing global economic challenges in the ASEAN and European regions.
On Dec. 11, the speakers will address connectivity within ASEAN, as well as between ASEAN and Europe. Jean-Pierre Felenbok, the President Director and Managing Partner of Bain & Company Indonesia will be the keynote speaker during this session.
The event will give an opportunity to high level economic experts from the public and private sectors to share the ASEAN-EU experience on regional integration, promote, encourage and reaffirm business partnerships between European and ASEAN companies, the statement said.
During the discussions, panelists and participants will exchange views on the implications of the progress of the ASEAN Economic Community 2015 and enhancing ASEAN-EU connectivity related to businesses.
In addition, the "ASEAN-Europe Economic Dialogue" will also aim to promote the benefits of an ASEAN single market and a European single market for ASEAN and European companies, and share perspectives on the linkages between regional integration and trade.
